An impressive pair of Slater’s Patent stoneware vases by Royal Doulton, richly decorated with an all-over floral design heightened with gilt, white, pale blue and iron-red enamels. The decoration sits over a finely textured ground, a hallmark of Doulton’s Slater’s technique.

Each vase is finished with an olive-green glazed neck and a deep cobalt blue foot with gilt detailing. The bases are impressed with the Royal Doulton factory marks, Slater’s Patent, and pattern number 2266, and bear the decorator’s initials EB.

At 34 cm high, this is a strong, well-proportioned pair with excellent decorative presence, ideal for flanking a mantelpiece, sideboard, or console.
