A beautifully matched pair of Royal Doulton Slater’s Patent stoneware vases, dating to around 1900. These tall, elegant forms display the characteristic textured ground and refined slip decoration that define the Slater’s Patent range.
Each vase features relief floral motifs in soft olive, cream, and turquoise tones, with gilded highlights and a deep brown glazed neck accented by stylised lotus designs. The bases are impressed with the Royal Doulton mark, the pattern number 5790, and the incised initials BN, identifying the decorator as Bessie Newbery, a respected Doulton artist active during this period.
A striking and highly decorative pair, impressive in scale and craftsmanship, and an excellent example of Doulton’s late Victorian / Edwardian artistry.
