A rare Hornby Meccano tinplate clockwork boat, model “Gannet”, dating from the 1930s. Finished in its original cream and blue paintwork with name panels to the bow and the Hornby Meccano Liverpool decal.
This charming piece retains its working clockwork mechanism, though the original winding key is missing (replacement keys can easily be sourced). Despite age-related wear and paint loss, the overall presentation is very good, making it an excellent addition to any Hornby or tinplate toy collection.
