Takatori-yaki Studio Pottery Vase with Signed Wooden Box, Japan

£150.00

A beautifully hand-crafted Takatori-yaki (高取焼) studio pottery vase from Fukuoka, Japan.
Finished in warm ochre tones with expressive ash-style glaze pooling, the piece features a traditional applied medallion design to the front—an iconic decorative technique of the Takatori kilns.

The vase has a balanced, rounded form and a gently flared neck, making it ideal for floral arrangements or as a standalone decorative piece. The stoneware body is high-fired, giving the glaze its characteristic depth, variation, and natural movement.

This example comes complete with its original signed wooden kiribako (storage box), brush-inscribed with 花瓶 (kabin / vase) and the potter’s signature and seal.
A refined and authentic piece of Japanese studio craft.
